about

This is one of the rare songs we do that could vaguely be considered in the ‘Praise & Worship’ vein. It's a somewhat obscure track from Waterdeep released over a decade ago. Also, remember our no-CCLI thing? We just found out earlier this year that this is listed. Regardless, this is a great song and we feel it is still worth sharing.

Some have told me that they find it surprising that we would do a Waterdeep song, or that I would know their music at all. Well in 1999 I played guitar for a guy named Chris Taylor. We toured with Waterdeep and had a fantastic time. Don and Lori Schaffer were honestly two of the most gentle and kind people I’ve ever met. That was literally my only experience in the Christian Music industry. When Seth Woods shared this song with the Mosaic community we adopted it, and the people of Servant Church have found it a powerful contemplative piece.

I love the repetitive, almost Tazie nature of it’s lyrics. I appreciate the journey of thought through which the song takes us. It begins with the questions When the cold wind blows all around… and When no home on earth can be found, will you still love me? The song ends not with these questions, but turns them into the statements. When the cold wind blows all around, you will still love me. When no home on earth can be found, you will still love me.

There’s not much to say about this straight forward recording except that I love Mitch and Molly’s harmonizing vocals helping to make me sound like I can sing! Now that’s a task!
